![]() That's the reason for Berengar's presence in Temple District and in Swamps. Ramsmeat is crimeboss of the Temple District, and so Berengar appears to have worked for some really nasty people.Īmong them was apparently, good old Kalkstein, the alchemist. When confronted, Thaler says someone else have given him Berengar's stuff to sell - Coleman, Ramsmeat's right hand and local fisstech dealer. Thaler supposedly knows the details of renegade's activities before Geralt got into town. When Geralt is freed from jail to kill the Cockatrice, he gets a silver sword left by another witcher - Berengar, again. If you kill Berengar, you will also get his Witcher's Medallion. Berengar will yield Dagon's Sap recipe and some runes/gold. Decide whether you want to kill him or let him be. The Parting - After leaving the Lady of the Lake upon doing 'The Ripples' quest and 'Paths of Destiny' quest, you will be approached by Berengar.Learn about Alvin's involvement and what Berengar's story really is. Working with Salamandra - Talk to Berengar again, after doing the Vodyanoi Quest. After the crypt slaying is done, meet Berengar back at the fireplace nearby. So unless you are careful, you can get them really scrambled. You need to be similarly careful with some of the books, like Lara's Gift (read first) and Story of Lara Doreen and Cragen Lod (read second) or History of the world (1) and Recent History (2). The second entry comes from Secret Gates, which most people probably read before they go to the swamp. For example, the base entry of the mage tower comes from Gramps. If you go to the hut, get the quest and talk to him again and you have not already done the pilgrimage quest, you will never get the pilgrimage quest at all and miss out on the quest exp and the list above. One of the things that most annoys me about the game is that the journal entries are not automatically sorted into logical order, but appear in the order you read stuff, resulting in entries being chronologically out of order. You get the cannibal quest right before you talk to him. He'll tell you stuff about the following:1) Clay pits2) Three Islands section, he gives you two formulas (Maribor Forest potion and King & Queen bomb)3) Any place of power, another dialogue, guaranteed to get it at druid circle4) Mage tower entrance, you get the base entry for the Mage tower. Then take him to Melitele shrine and get the last info out of him and he sods off to his hut. If you map the swamp before talking to Gramps but don't go into his hut before that, you get all kinds of interesting stuff out of him if you take the scenic route to the shrine.
